2018 In a Nutshell

Wow it’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. I could say that life got in the way but it was more of a conscious choice. Nearing the end of 2018 work became super hectic and that didn’t let up until February. I told myself I deserved some time away from feeling obliged to post on social media and I indeed took a well deserved break. I mean I didn’t post on my instagram in 2019 until my first day of vacation, in February. So yea, I took a mental break from everything after the year 2018 was. It was a year full of adulting which honestly felt great. I got a new job around this time last year in the field of my studies so I felt pretty fulfilled on that end. Nick and I moved into a new apartment that is really one I’d dreamed of for years.

Family came to visit, we visited family and had new experiences together.

Nick and I also had our first Christmas, by ourselves, as a married couple. We cooked way too much food but had a great time being alone.

Outside of my personal life I also accomplished quite a bit in other areas. I set myself a goal to read 50 books in 2018, one a week while giving myself 2 weeks off. Even though I didn’t meet that goal I got pretty close at 40 books. Some stand outs were the Red Queen series, I finally finished the Lorien Legacies Series and also goth through a couple more Colleen Hoover books. More to come on those later. What I learned from all of this was that yes I love to read but it also showed me all the different types of books I love to read and the authors who continuously write them. Right now I’m in the groove of reading over books I’ve loved so of course I’ve already read the Significance series by Shelly Crane but I’ve also read the More Than series and I plan to move onto the Wait for You series pretty soon. Maybe I’ll make this year all about reading over the books I’ve loved and to further explore the authors of these books. After being in the minds of so many different people last year it’s so comforting to be back with the minds I’ve loved before.

As for what I have planned for this space, I have some new ideas and I’m hoping I can keep up this inspiration and motivation to see them all through. I want to keep exploring with writing and seeing what new creativity I can come up with. So here’s to not losing this new found motivation and to the rest of 2019! 🙂
