My New Reading List!!

So I’ve moved back home to Barbados and finally become semi-settled. I’m still working on my work/recording space but for the most part I’ve sorted out everything I’ve unpacked and figured out where everything needs to go which helps with getting things done. On that to do list is to get back reading. I haven’t read anything new in about 2 months which is weird for me. I’ve read snippets of books I’ve read before just to get that excitement about reading again but I haven’t been able to find a new series to get excited about, until now.

A couple months ago I got a couple new books that have just been sitting there waiting for me. When I couldn’t find a new series I decided that I could just read through an author and maybe something good would come up. I did that with Jennifer Armentrout which was how I found the Covenant series after reading the Lux series. Right now my author in the spotlight is Abbi Glines. I read The Vincent Boy and The Vincent Brothers from her and really enjoyed them so I figured her other work should be just as enjoyable. On my reading list is the Too Far series.

This series I think falls into my more grown up category. I’ve been making an effort to read more books where the protagonist is more about my age or same lifestyle situation instead of always reading about someone in high school. I’m excited but nervous to start this series. Excited to get lost in another story but nervous because I know once I start back reading everything else I do gets forgotten. I need to find a balance where I can read a good book but I still get to be a functioning adult.

Also on my list was The Heir by Kiera Cass.

I say was because I read this book in about two days. I’ve read all of the other books in the series and really liked them. I love to see a strong female role played out and then that one moment when she’s vulnerable but not weak shows how complex a female character can be. This one is a great learning tool and is completely relevant in today’s society. Also about a strong female who is now learning how to be someone to be respected but still show a softer quality that also allows her to be loved. A lot of women find it hard to find that balance so it would be interesting to see where the rest of the story goes.

Also on my list from Abbi Glines is Breathe.

This book is the beginning of her Sea Breeze series which I am also excited to start. Its not your typical series which follows the same set of characters throughout all the books so its great for diving into many different stories.

That’s basically it. I’m still waiting for a couple more books to be published so I can read them and finish off the series. One I’m really looking forward to is the next installment to the Significance series by Shelly Crane called Undeniably Fated. There’s no release date yet but I’m hoping it’ll be soon. There’s also Strife by Brigid Kemmerer which would be the 6th book in the Elemental series. This is the first series I read which was mostly written from a guy’s perspective which was a great change. I’m still open to new authors and series so if you have any suggestions make sure to tell me!! 🙂
