Believe it or not I haven’t been able to do a new post because I was too busy reading! Shocker I know but for the past month I’ve been reading again and it feels really good. I started off with I Am Number Four just so I didn’t feel pressure to finish a book quickly and then ventured from there. What surprised me was how I’ve been really liking reading on the Kindle app and books from Amazon. I’ve always been an ebook gal purely because books are a pain when you move apartments every 2 years but I never fully delved into the ebooks on Amazon, until now.
A couple years ago I made a conscious effort to read from more mature authors. No more reading stories with the protagonist in high school. College maybe, but mostly we’re looking for working age. That led to a couple more Colleen Hoover options but sometimes her books leave me emotionally drained. I basically wanted a Hallmark movie but in a book. I quickly found some other authors I fell in love with like Melanie Summers and Sarah Adams. I tried a lot of other books and authors but here are a couple books I’ve been loving from Amazon and reading on the Kindle app on my phone.

This series is full of laughs while still touching on some topics that are relevant today, plus it’s really well written.
I went down a rabbit hole of books dealing with strange requests in wills….weird I know but they were interesting. I first got pulled into this by reading The Inheritance Games.

This went against all my rules of the protagonist age and all but this books is really captivating. I’m still working on book 3 but I’m thinking it requires a full re-read from book 1.
Along that same vein is The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers. I still haven’t read all of these but I’m making my way back to this series.

This book surprised me a little but I really enjoyed reading it. It has its ups and downs, great character development and of course a fun love story all mixed in.
Another great Amazon find was The Off Limits Rule. I basically decided to read this based on the cover. I was nursing and just needed something to read quickly and this one caught my eye.

I’m pretty sure I’ve read a couple of her books before but this one reads exactly as a rom-com would be on the big screen. The way she writes is so easy to imagine which made it a really enjoyable read. The protagonist is sooo relatable and it’s super easy to spend chapters on end in her thoughts.
A bit of a surprise to me were a couple of the free books available on the Kindle App. As much as I always hope for some good finds for free, some of them aren’t my cup of tea so I was happily surprised when I found Flawless by Elsie Silver.

The first thing that got me was that this is based in Canada and then it has in horses! I will always love a book that has a strong willed female protagonist so I was hooked from early. I love how each character has their own journey to go on and others allow that to happen. I’m slowly making my way through the rest of this series.
Happy reading!
