Shopaholic’s Delight: My Current Favorite Amazon Finds You Need to See

Every month when we buy our household needs, I like to add on something that I don’t necessarily need but I think would be cool to have. A little pick me up to get me excited to open Amazon boxes. This time, with moving and trying to set up a whole new house I had a couple chances to sneak in some fun things for me :).

A fun one for me to get me back into taking pictures and videos is a tripod.

I got the recommendation from a page on Instagram and the price looked okay so I added it to the cart and didn’t think much of it until it got here. This thing is amazing!! the quality feels very very good, it’s pretty easy to use, and it’s versatile. It has the attachment for a camera, the GoPro attachment, and a phone attachment. It also has a slot on the tripod itself to store the bluetooth remote. It’s like an all in one tripod, no need to have a small one for vlogging and a bigger one for other videos.

This one counts as both a cool buy and a household need. And they’re super simple but effective. These are motion sensor lights.

I got these as a recommendation from my sister and her boyfriend and they’ve come in super handy since we’ve gotten them. They’re really bright and stay on for about a minute and a half once they’ve been turned on. The range of motion it detects is also really good, you don’t have to be right on top of it for it to turn on but it doesn’t turn on randomly if you walk by in another room. It doesn’t have to be extremely dark for it to turn on so sometimes I can get this to turn on instead of using big overhead lights. Overall I really like these. We’re trying to find where would be practical to put 2 more that wouldn’t disturb Duckling too much.

This is something that I bought before I had little Duckling. I read in a post about what to pack in your hospital bag that would help with the hospital stay and that is a compression eye mask,

This thing is perfection! Have a headache? Put on your eye mask. Need to take a quick nap and get to sleep quickly? Put on your eye mask. Want to have the best deep sleep of your life? Put on your eye mask. As good as this thing is, having such a deep sleep when you are also paranoid about if your newborn baby is silently and slowly dying in his sleep just feeds your anxiety. I stopped using mine at night but if I need a quick nap, this is what I use. In the hospital with all the machines and lights and nurses coming in this got NIck and I some good solid stretches of sleep. Short stretches but some sleep nonetheless.

A sentimental one for you is something I surprised Nick with once we got the keys to our new place.

Again, I stole the idea from my sister for this and made her hide her pair from Nick for a whole month. He knew we were hiding something to do with keys but he didn’t know what I was up to :). These were just a quick easy surprise for Nick and I’m super happy with them. The finish on them feel good and I’m kinda glad they both don’t say the same thing.

Those are all the standouts for now. I already have a delivery coming in a couple days that I’ll make sure to include in next month’s shopaholic confessions.
